National Trail Senior Organizing Cuts for the Cure Event

Mariah Brinley, a senior at National Trail High School, chose to do something pretty extraordinary with her senior project. Mariah has organized an event to be held at Profiles Hair Salon in New Paris to benefit the Breast Cancer Awareness of Darke County organization.

The event is called “Cuts for the Cure” and will ask community members to stop in to the salon for services with all proceeds being donated to the charity. The Breast Cancer Awareness of Darke County is a nonprofit organization that focuses on screening and prevention of the breast cancer.

Mariah plans to attend cosmetology school after graduation from National Trail and eventually start her own charity to raise funds and supplies to aid in cancer research and helping women in general. Mariah also stated that her mother, a nurse at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, has influenced her in many ways, including the desire to help and take care of those who need it. As far as why Mariah chose to organize this event? She simply stated “I want people to be able to live happy.”
