Boxes for Bluebirds

Remember seeing that songbird with a royal blue back and head with a warm red-brown tint on the breast? If so, you have to invite these beautiful, Eastern Bluebirds to your home! They will eat insects and wild berries and fruits and prefer to find food around farmland, meadows and pastures. Providing a next box is a great way to attract and expand the population of these colorful birds onto your property. So join the Darke County Parks in building Boxes for Bluebirds! Meet at the Nature Center on Wednesday, March 21st at 6:30pm. We’ll provide all the materials to build your box. All you need to bring is a hammer.

Pre-Registration is required and a fee of $8 will cover the cost of all the supplies needed to build your very own bluebird box to take home. Call the Nature Center at 937.548.0165 to register for this program.
