Greenville FFA Members Excel at District 5 Evaluation

Members of the Greenville FFA Chapter participated in the District 5 Annual Evaluation process on Wednesday February 8, 2012. The evaluation held at Upper Valley JVS was for all schools having Agricultural Education programs in the seven county area of west central Ohio. The process evaluated individual students in the areas of State and American Degree applications and in over 50 Proficiency Award areas based on the student’s Supervised Agricultural Experience Projects. Also evaluated were the officers of the local FFA Chapters on their respective Officer Books.

The three officers that were evaluated were Secretary Alyssa Garber, Treasurer Thomas Shaw, and Reporter Molly Magoto. Alyssa’s Secretary Book was rated gold in District competition receiving a perfect score. Thomas’s Treasurer Book was rated gold in the District competition receiving a 96 % score. Receiving a gold rating for reporting the FFA News was Molly Magoto with a perfect score on the Chapter Scrapbook. All three officers will be recognized at the State FFA Convention in May.

In the area of individual proficiency awards, the following results were announced after the evaluation process. Regan Garber had applications in Diversified Agriculture, Agricultural Mechanics, and Agricultural Service pass on for state evaluation. State Evaluation will be held the first weekend in March with the final four interviews held in May at the State FFA Convention.

This evaluation process finalizes a year of hard work for each of these FFA members. Other members of the local chapter have also made application for local awards in many of these areas and they will be recognized at our Annual Parent Member Recognition Night.
