Greenville Kiwanis… GHS Auto Tech Team presents 2012 Project

The Greenville High School Automotive Technology Team presented its 2012 project, “Riding with Steering & Suspension,” at Greenville Kiwanis recently. The program consisted of an automated demonstration, slide show and a detailed “Q&A” following the presentation. Team members, left to right, are seniors Andrea Arthur, Trevor Bates and Jillian Mann.

According to GHS instructor Travis Nichols, the regional competition begins on April 19, with the State competition at the end of April. The GHS Auto Tech team hopes to take Gold at State this year so it can move on to Nationals. It was awarded Silver at State in 2011, but needs a Gold to continue in the competition. The three students currently work in auto related fields and intend to get their automotive technology certificates at Sinclair College upon graduation.

Greenville Kiwanis is a community service organization devoted to the community and its youth. The club meets each Wednesday at noon at Brethren Retirement Community’s Chestnut Village Community Center. New members are always welcome.
