Sunday, March 25th at 10:30 a.m. This is The Fifth Sunday in Lent, which is also called Rose Sunday or Mothering Sunday. We will allow the music and Scripture to instruct us in our Lenten life. We call this Sunday Rose Sunday, as we have time to catch our breath before the rest of Lent. But it also reminds us of Mary’s pain and sacrifice watching her Son die upon the Cross. The thorns on the rose remind us of our Lord’s crown of thorns placed upon His Head. We also call it Mothering Sunday, for the English tradition is, on this Sunday, to travel back to the Church in which one was baptized [that Church being called the Mother Church]. So today we also remember our Baptism, giving thanks for God’s love within our lives. After the service, there will be a special ‘English’ coffee hour! All are welcome.
