FELONIOUS ASSAULT INVESTIGATION
On Thursday, April 19, 2012 at approximately 1:41 am the Greenville Police Department responded to an address on Armstrong St. after receiving a 911 call reporting that a woman had been attacked with a knife.
Upon officer’s arrival they learned the victim, Shanna R. Cates, was at a friend’s residence on Gray Av. When a known suspect, Jamel K. Gray, forced his way into the residence and assaulted the victim with an unknown object and a knife. The victim suffered numerous lacerations about the head and neck. She was transported by Greenville Rescue to Wayne Hospital, and later she was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Care Flight.
The suspect fled the area on foot and his whereabouts remain unknown. The Greenville Police Department is still actively searching for the suspect.
