State of the Heart Hospice Receives Funding from United Way

State of the Heart Hospice, which serves residents of Auglaize County, recently received a check for $7,000 from United Way of Auglaize County. State of the Heart is a UW agency. The request for funding from State of the Heart was for bereavement support for residents of Auglaize County. The agency provides free grief support to anyone who needs help dealing with grief, regardless of association with hospice. A portion of the funds will go to purchase grief educational materials for schools in Auglaize County. They will be presented in May. Through various grant sources, State of the Heart has distributed books to schools in Darke, Randolph, and Mercer, counties. They help school officials interact with students who are experiencing grief. Pictured here with some of the materials is Randy Fisher, right, Executive Director of the United Way of Auglaize County, presenting the check to Ryan Gathard, Director of Fund Development for State of the Heart. The agency serves patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
