Ansonia FFA Greenhouse's Mother's Day Spectacular

On April 20, the Ansonia FFA had its grand opening of the greenhouse. The greenhouse is now open seven days a week: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m. T

They will be holding a Mother’s Day Spectacular Sale on May 12, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prizes, refreshments, free food and discounts will be provided.

Tiger Country 97.5 will be present broadcasting the event and Heavy Smokers BBQ will be cooking food all day for the Mothers Day Spectacular. John Burnett, of Burnett’s Custom Woodshop in Union City, will also be on hand. John will be there to talk about outdoor woodworking questions. Burnett’s Custom Woodshop specializes in decks, pergolas, arbors, trellises and other outdoor projects. Feel free to drop by and ask him questions about your decks or upcoming projects.

In the greenhouse they have over 300 varieties of fruit, flower and veggie plants. They also have 27 different varieties of tomatoes! There are hundreds of beautiful hanging baskets and decorative containers ranging from $15 to $50. These arrangements are full and blooming and look beautiful, perfect for a Mother’s Day gift! They also have 50 varieties of perennials and 70 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs. New this year we will be offering three different varieties of seed potatoes and four varieties of onion sets. They also have an expanded selection of fruit and flowering trees ranging from $15 to $75.

One-hundred-percent of the plants were raised by the Ansonia FFA students. They have a large selection of gardening tools, decorative pots, hooks, hangers, garden seed, and potting soil.

Don’t know what to get Mom for Mother’s Day? Gift certificates are available. Proceeds from the sale help support the Ansonia FFA chapter, so come on out and help support some of Ansonia’s finest youth. For your convenience, we accept cash, check and most major credit cards. The greenhouse is located on 600 East Canal Street in Ansonia, right behind the high school beside the track and baseball diamond.
