Do you have a love for nature? Help Darke County Parks celebrate its 40th Anniversary with its newest event, Nature Day.
Darke County Parks is looking for volunteers interested in hosting a nature related station in the woods, prairie or the wetlands. “The staff has various topics planned for Nature Day such as finding macro-invertebrates in the wetlands, catching and identifying butterflies, and learning how to properly use binoculars to get a closer look at something. Be sure to join us for this fun filled day” states Laura Schwieterman, Volunteer Coordinator for DCP. Training will be provided along with all need materials and supplies. This volunteer opportunity is available Saturday, May 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers should be at least 14 years old or 12 years old with a parent.
