Recounting the experiences of Candidates Nights, Tour of Homes, town hall meetings such as Ethics in Politics, our Glad Rags, Old Bags fundraiser, and issues for study will be the conversation at the annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Darke County.
Dining at the Bistro before their May 29th meeting, the women will be entertained by the string quartette led by Michelle Drees of the Learning Workshop. At their annual meeting, the women will recount the year’s activities, discuss study topics and plan for the upcoming year.
The League is non-partisan and has as its mission to encourage informed and active participation in government and works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influence public policy through education and advocacy. In past years, the local LWV has worked to give the public information about carbon sequestration, sunshine laws, natural gas fracking, ethics in office, and to provide forums for the public to meet and hear candidates before each election.
