GOD BLESS OUR ANIMALS, FARMS, GARDENS, AND OUR MOTHERS. . .
VISIT ST. PAUL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH FOR
ROGATION DAY AND MOTHERS DAY TO DO JUST THAT!

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church “The church with the red doors” (on the corner of N. Broadway and Water Streets in Greenville) will be celebrating Rogation Day as well as Mother’s Day for all Mothers and those who have mothered. Rogation Day is an old tradition in which people used to walk around their fields and parishes asking GOD’s blessings on their crops, animals, and work. It had fallen into disuse but has had a revival and we will be celebrating our first Rogation Sunday this year. Rogation Sunday is the Sunday before Ascension Thursday. All are welcome to bring a symbol of their farm, garden, herd; such as seed, soil, fleece, egg, shovel, tractor etc. All will be blessed by Father Jim Larsen. A special liturgy will be held outside-weather permitting.
