CBC DONORS READY TO ROAR AT ELDORA BLOOD DRIVE

SPEEDWAY TICKETS, TONY STEWART MERCHANDISE UP FOR GRABS

DARKE CO., Ohio - “Racin’ is rubbin,” and that tradition is especially exciting on a dirt track like the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. Two great opportunities for race fans will be rubbing elbows at the annual Community Blood Center (CBC) Eldora Speedway Blood Drive on Thursday, June 21. Donors can help boost the summer blood supply and win tickets to some of the hottest races of the season.

Everyone who registers to donate at the blood drive in the Eldora Speedway Ballroom from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21 could win one of 26 Eldora Speedway race tickets up for grabs. The luckiest donors will win the grand prizes of two tickets for the July 14 Kings Royal event, or racing merchandise signed by the brightest star of Eldora, driver Tony Stewart.

Everyone who registers to donate will receive the “iFocus, iChange Local Lives, the Power is in Your Hands” t-shirt. Plus, donors can daydream about turning laps at Eldora in a “race red” 2012 Ford Focus, the grand prize in CBC’s “iFocus on Saving Lives” summer blood drive campaign.

Everyone age 18 or older who registers to donate at the Eldora Speedway Blood Drive, or any CBC branch or mobile blood drive now through Saturday, Sept. 1 is automatically entered in the drawing to win the 2012 Ford Focus.

For race fans, the Eldora Speedway Blood Drive will be suspenseful with race ticket winners drawn every half hour. “We’re just honored to be part of it,” said Eldora Speedway Director of Operations Larry Boos, “and we’re very pleased that every year the number of units collected has increased. We’re proud to be part of the community supporting this great cause.”

Boos says donors will win tickets to a variety of race events on the Eldora calendar. The raffles are for tickets to the June 30 Chevy Performance FASTRAK Clash; the grand prize Kings Royal World of Outlaw and NRA Sprints on July 14; the Summer Sprint Car Shootout on July 28; Family Fun Night on Aug. 11; and the University of Northwestern Ohio Sprintacular on Oct. 13.

The Eldora Speedway Blood Drive takes place Thursday, June 21 at the Eldora Speedway Ballroom, located at 13929 St. Rt. 118 in New Weston, OH. Hours are 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and appointments are encouraged. You can schedule an appointment on line at www.DonorTime.com or contact CBC Rep.
