WHIOtv.com: 4 Arrested in "Near Riot" Situation

They have added more details, including that the original complaint was individuals trespassing at an abandoned house. It was responding to that call that things quickly escalated when individuals refused to disperse and then resisted arrest.

Original Post: WHIO reports that a fight that broke out in Union City last night ended up as a "near riot" situation according to Union City Police.

While details of how the altercation started are still unclear, here is a breakdown of the arrests:

  • Tiffany Kessell, 18, of Rossburg, was arrested on charges of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, failure to comply and criminal trespassing
  • Kurtis Yoder, 19, of Greenville, was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing and failure to comply.


  • Mark Rodriguez, 21, of Union City, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • Jason Thompson, 25, was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing
