Car and Motorcycle Collide, One in Critical Condition

On September 8, 2012 at approximately 10:42 AM Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire, Greenville Township Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to the intersection of US RT 127 and Childrens Home Bradford Road in reference to a two vehicle serious injury accident involving a motorcycle and vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed a silver 2000 Buick LeSabre, driven by Samuel D. Yagle, 79, Versailles Ohio was eastbound on Childrens Home Bradford Road crossing US RT 127. Yagle's vehicle traveled into the path of the northbound 2006 maroon Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by Michael R. Roth, 54, Englewood Ohio. Roth struck Yagle's vehicle causing both vehicle's to travel of the right side of the roadway. Roth was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest in the side ditch.

Yagle was transported to Wayne HealthCare by Greenville Township Rescue, where he was treated and released. Yagle was the only occupant in the vehicle. Roth was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight, where he is listed in critical condition.

The Darke County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction team also responded to the scene for further investigation.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
