Judge Julie L. Monnin, Darke County Municipal Court, announces a scam that has been reported to the court by several citizens of Darke County.
The court has been notified that unidentified persons are contacting citizens by telephone and claiming that they owe money to Darke County Municipal Court and if a credit card payment is not made immediately, a bench warrant will issued for their arrest.
Please be advised that if you receive a telephone call of this nature, notify the court immediately at 937.547.7340. The court can then verify if you have an outstanding balance due or if you were the recipient of this scam. Do not give credit card information or any other identifying information to unknown callers.
