Play it by Ear to Perform at Gospel Sing

PLAY IT BY EAR will be performing at the gospel sing at Memorial Hall this Sunday, September 9 at 7 p.m.

Tenor singer, Mike Greene, lives in Winchester, IN. He is in charge of the vocal music department at the local high school. Mike is married and has 3 children. Wife, Diane, is an elementary teacher at driver middle school.

Lead singer, Noel “Bud” Carpenter is the county commissioner of Randolph County. He is from Union City and is also a farmer. Bud has been singing
barbershop all his life. He sang in two state championship quartets, one in Florida and Michigan. His wife, Melinda, is retired from workhorse chassis.

Baritone singer, Dave Kelly, lives in Winchester. He is retired from his family business. Dave has performed in and/or directed 8 musicals at Winchester Community High School. Dave, also, sang in the Purdue glee club. His wife, Nina, is retired from UCNB in Winchester. They have 2 daughters.

Admission is free with love offering to be taken. All proceeds go to the Cancer Association of Darke County.

Sharon Jones scheduled to minister using sign language with the group, New Dawn, at The Gospel Sing to be held September 9 at Memorial Hall from 7-9 p.m.

Sharon (Magoto) Jones was born in Greenville, Ohio with a hearing loss in both ears. She was raised in Versailles, Ohio. Sharon attended public school until the summer before her senior year. Then, at age 18 her parents learned about St. Rita School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended for two years and graduated. Sharon gave her life to the Lord at the age of 16 when Billy Graham spoke directly to her through the television about "hope and not giving up."

For the past 14 years, she has signed at churches, funerals, Christian gatherings (singspirations) interpreting songs which she enjoys doing. She also is partly involved in Clown Ministry also. Sharon recently rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and is on a journey to serving the Lord. She thanks Him for the gift that He has given her, this opportunity to share her Sign-Language Music Ministry with her heart and hands in sharing God's love. (Psalm 144:1 New King James Version).

Divorced with three adult children and a brand new grandson, Sharon is a proud grandmother. She is employed at Whirlpool Corporation.

Having never signed before such a large crowd and big venue, Sharon covets your prayers during this time. She is also so excited in helping to support this cause for the Cancer Association of Darke County.

Plan to attend this free gospel concert September 9 sponsored by the Cancer Association of Darke County. A freewill offering will be taken and all proceeds will go to the Cancer Association of Darke County to benefit cancer patients in Darke County.
