On September 16, 2012 at approximately 2:26 PM Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire Dept., Tri Village Rescue, and Careflight were dispatched to the intersection of US Route 127 and State Route 503 in reference to a two vehicle injury crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Chevy Malibu, driven by Carla Detling, 37, of Arcanum, was traveling northwest on SR 503, when the driver failed to yeild at a stop sign and was struck by a 2003 Chevy Blazer, driven by Sarah Tomlinson, 45, of New Madison, which was southbound on US 127.
Ms. Detling was transported to Wayne Hospital by Tri Village Rescue where she is listed in stable condition. Ms. Tomlinson was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight where she is listed in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
