A WARM REWARD TO HOLIDAY BLOOD DONORS COZY KNIT SCARF IS FREE TO CBC SUPPORTERS DURING BUSY TIME OF YEAR

As the songs goes, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” But for Community Blood Center (CBC) and the mission of a safe and adequate blood supply, the holiday time can also be the most challenging.

The CBC “Blood Donor – Save Lives” knit scarf is free to everyone who registers to donate at any CBC branch and most mobile blood drives now through New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31. The scarlet and grey neck warmer is both practical and stylish and arrives just in time for the gift-gathering season.

“This scarf represents a warm ‘thank you’ to everyone who finds the time to donate during this very busy time of year,” said CBC Donor Relations Director Andrew Keelor. “The holidays are always a special challenge, and we count on our donors to always come through.”

The Dayton CBC will operate 7 a.m. to noon Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. (The Springfield and Richmond branches will operate 8 a.m. to noon). All CBC branches will be closed on Christmas Day. (No mobile blood drives are scheduled Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). All branches will re-open Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Notice about important changes to CBC’s donor ID system - CBC has assigned new, eight-digit donor identification numbers to all donors. When donors present their current CBC Donor ID card at a CBC branch or mobile drive it will be noted for replacement and the donor will receive a new plastic Donor ID card and key fob card in the mail. Donors must use their new Donor ID number to schedule appointments on www.DonorTime.com.
