Saint Nicholas to Appear at Local Museum

The Versailles Area Historical Society will begin its “Sunday Afternoon at the Museum” this coming Sunday December, 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Museum at Versailles with their guest “The Bishop of Myra, St. Nicholas”.

Tim Nealeigh of Greenville will come as the Bishop himself sharing in the ledged and tradition we hold so special this time of year. Whether you are young or a little older you are sure to delight in this wonderful presentation, a chance to reflect on the meaning of the season. Tim has entertained and educated groups all over with his unique way of sharing the story of the good Bishop rooted in faith and history we are sure you will want to bring your whole family for this wonderful afternoon.

Other programs in the series include Chris Supinger will share ledges, lore, and downright lies. That is the humor of this area storyteller. Chris will join us on January 20th at 2:00 p.m. for “Stories by the Fireside and other Noteworthy Lies”. You and the whole family will hoot and holler with Chris and his folksy storytelling.
On February 10, local author and contributor to the PBS series “The Lincoln Train”, Scott Trostel will join us to talk about his new book “Through the Dark Night, the Great 1913 Flood” in which he deals with the flood in the northern Miami valley (that’s us). Scott will share facts, stories and struggles that many locals may never have heard. March will commemorate the 100th anniversary of this tragedy.
