"Break the Blues and Get Ready for Spring" with the Olde Thyme Gardeners and the Darke County Parks for their annual Spring Gardening Workshop held on Saturday, February 23 from 9:00 until 3:00 at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, 4267 State Route 502, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
Two of our very popular speakers are returning this year as well as a newcomer. Donna Kronenberger and Bob Henn were so well received at last Spring's workshop that we invited them to come back. Donna will be speaking on a new topic, " Micro Greens". She has a blog at ThrivingGoneRaw.com and maintains a store front presence at 3rd Street Market in Greenville. Noted author Robert L. Henn will continue his discussion of Ohio's Wildflowers. Robert is a Professor Emeritus at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.
New to us this year will be Mark Webber from WHIO's radio program "Garden Talk". We are excited to welcome him to spend the afternoon with us discussing "Growing Vegetables in Winter" and "Weed Control". Mark has his own landscaping nursery and farm in Dayton and you can find him on his blog at gardentalkwhio.ning.com.
Pre-registration is required and the workshop is limited to the first 50 participants so be sure to sign up early! The fee is $30 which covers the cost of speakers, materials and a catered lunch. If you would like a lunch, registration is required by Friday, February 13. The cost is $25 if you register after February 13 and you will be on your own for lunch. Of course, you may register for $25 at any time for the workshop only and no lunch. Please call Olde Thyme Gardener President Bethany DuPuy at 937-547-0877 or 937-417-8917 if you have any questions.
