Seniors from the class of 2013 who attend a Darke County High School or are home-schooled are invited to apply for scholarships from the HOPE Foundation of Darke County. Application deadline is April 1, 2013. By filling out one general application, students are eligible for approximately 42 scholarships totaling over $75,000. In addition, Greenville seniors with at least a 2.75 grade point average are eligible for the Mandy Green Memorial Scholarships in honor of a classmate who died in 2005.
Students may print the application from the HOPE Foundation website, http://www.hopedarkecounty.com/application.html, or they may obtain the application from their high school guidance counselor. Awards are based on the following criteria, not necessarily in this order: grade point average, ACT score, activities, financial need, and essay. Provisional recipients will be announced this spring at each high school’s graduation or awards program. Scholarship money will be disbursed following the student’s first semester in college, providing the student earns at least a 2.75 grade point average.
