WHIOtv.com: Union City Dad Accused of Branding Kids

Jason Mangas
WHIO is reporting that a Union City man is being charged with 3 counts of neglect of a dependent after being accused of using a heated necklace to brand children.

Allegedly, Jason Mangas, 28, "heated a necklace on a space heater until it was hot, then placed the medallion of the necklace on the girl’s arm. He then helped her brother and his friend do the same thing on their bodies" after an 8 year old said she wanted a tattoo.

WHIO also adds that this is the second time Mangas appeared in Randolph County Court this week, where he "pleaded guilty to theft and residential entry related to a 2010 break-in. He was sentenced to home detention and probation."
