KEEP CALM & CARRY ON… SAVING LIVES

MESSAGE TO DONORS: DON’T SWEAT SMALL STUFF, YOU’RE HELPING OTHERS

Tax season has you frazzled, your favorite college basketball team is on the bubble, and you’re not sure the family vehicle can make it to the beach for spring break. Community Blood Center (CBC) is reminding donors to take a breath, take your time, and keep on helping others with the “Keep Calm and Carry On Saving Lives” campaign.

The charcoal grey “Blood Donor – Keep Calm and Carry On – Saving Lives” t-shirt is free to everyone who registers to donate at any CBC branch and most CBC mobile blood drives beginning Monday, March 18 through Saturday, April 6.

Credit the Brits and their stiff upper lips for the t-shirt message. The original “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster was created by the British government in 1939 at the beginning of the Second World War to help boost morale at a time of grave concerns about air strikes and invasion. It had only limited distribution and no public display. Since being rediscovered in 2000 the popularity of the motivational message has soared.
The t-shirt design includes the iconic Tudor crown and the classic lettering associated with the British Ministry of Information.

CBC encourages donors to help the blood supply carry on during the challenging Easter holiday season. Most schools will close for spring break, many people will take time away from work, and families will be traveling - all leading to disruptions in daily schedules and blood donations. CBC reminds donors to schedule an appointment to give blood and support patients in need when you are able.

Scheduling your appointment is easy. Go on line to www.donortime.com to schedule your own appointment. You can also contact Dana Puterbaugh, Darke County - Account Representative @ 937-997-2199 / dputerbaugh@givingblood.org to schedule your appointment.

Please remember that appointments have priority and Walk –Ins are always welcome as the schedule permits. This just means that if you walk in and all appointments are filled at the time you come to the blood drive we will let you know when the next available appointment is and you have the choice to either wait or come back at the time that is available.

Please always allow 45 minutes to 1 hour to get through the entire process, even if you have an appointment.
