Have you ever wanted to take that dream cruise vacation, perhaps going to sunny climates in the winter? That is possible if you purchase a raffle ticket for the “dream” cruise in a drawing being conducted by State of the Heart Hospice. Proceeds will benefit the new patient Care Center at Wayne HealthCare with the drawing at the State of the Heart annual golf outing, Friday, June 7 at the Stillwater Valley Golf Club.

The cruise vacation package will be arranged by AAA Travel located at 302 S. Broadway, Greenville. The cruise vacation, a value up to $3,000, will be on one of the Royal Caribbean International’s luxury ships. The cruise line sails to Europe, Alaska, the South Pacific, Asia and the Caribbean. The local office of AAA is arranging this trip and has donated to the cause for State of the Heart. The winner can choose any cruise destination and transportation to the ship could be included, at a value up to $3,000

“We feel extremely honored to be a part of this fund raising effort,” stated Lori Comer, Manager of the local office. “We are extremely impressed with what State of the Heart does in our community.” State of the Heart Hospice is a nonprofit agency which cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life-limiting illness.

Tickets are on sale at the AAA office, 302 S. Broadway, at the State of the Heart office, 1350 N. Broadway, both in Greenville, and the agency’s two branch locations: 230 W. Main St. in Coldwater, and 1237 W. State Rd. in Portland. Tickets are $25 each, or five for $100.

“We’re pleased to partner with AAA Miami Valley,” stated Ryan Gathard, Fund Development Director for State of the Heart. “The agency representatives have enthusiastically supported this effort to raise funds for our new Care Center at the hospital. We’re excited about the prospect of selling a lot of raffle tickets which will help with expenses for the Care Center.”

The drawing for the winner of the cruise will be held at the conclusion of the golf outing, which is being held for the eighteenth year. Proceeds from the golf outing will go toward the new patient Care Center at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville.

This year’s golf outing will consist of a morning and afternoon round. The format will be a scramble with men’s, women’s and co-ed divisions. There are limited spaces left, Gathard stated. He encourages anyone interested in playing or being a sponsor to contact him at 1-800-417-7535, or rgathard@stateoftheheartcare.org.

To further support the raffle, Comer and Micki Dudas, Regional Travel Sales Manager of AAA Miami Valley, will be on hand at the golf outing to sell tickets. “This is an expression in our belief in the cause,” Comer said. “We wanted to show support by donating our time.”

State of the Heart Hospice has served area communities for the past 32 years. For more information about any of the services offered by the agency, visit the web site at www.stateoftheheartcare.org.
