Robert Sullivan at the Richmond Palladium-Item followed up on the story of Joe and Glenna Martin (first posted on Thursday night) and the attempted robbery that took place in the Red Lobster parking lot in Richmond on Wednesday.
Glenna recounts the event and provides more details from the event, including that Joe didn't hit the suspect in the chest as the police stated originally, but rather hit his arm "like a hammer," causing the would be robber to turn tail and run. They even tried to follow him, but were unable to keep up with the blue SUV as it fled, running lights and driving erratically.
In a heartbreaking revelation, Martin shared that her own mother was "killed by a man with a knife years earlier."
