BIRDS OF A FEATHER DONATE TOGETHER FOR PARROT HEAD TEE

CBC WANTS PARROT HEAD FLOCK TO TAKE WING DURING HOLIDAY CHALLENGE

Just like the swallows returning to Capistrano, Parrot Heads will be flocking to Community Blood Center (CBC) during the week before Memorial Day. CBC is thanking donors for bolstering the holiday blood supply, and keeping the Parrot Head tradition alive, with the one-week-only “Birds of a Feather Donate Together” t-shirt.

The “Birds of a Feather Donate Together” t-shirt is free to everyone who registers to donate Monday, May 20 through Saturday, May 25 at any CBC Donor Center or most CBC mobile blood drives.

The colorful Parrot Head t-shirt design features three exotic birds that have flocked together to donate. Each has a blood donor bandage on its wing, one has a cookie in its beak, one bird sports beach party sunglasses, and another wears a Hawaiian shirt with a CBC blood drop logo on the chest.

CBC is encouraging donors to help keep the blood supply strong during the Memorial Day holiday period by donating at CBC mobile blood drives or at the Donor Center in their community.

On, Monday, May 20, 2013, Versailles Knights of Columbus Hall will kick off their own Parrott Head fun with a special Picnic Blood Drive for donors to enjoy. Donors will enjoy hot dogs, baked beans, chips, cookies, and drinks. This blood drive is open to the community and will begin at 12:30 pm and ending at 7:00 pm. Appointments are encouraged! The blood drive will be held at the Versailles K of C Hall which is located at 8440 State Route 47 at the west edge of Versailles.

Additionally everyone who registers to donate at any Darke County blood drive scheduled Monday, April 1 through Friday, May 31 will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a new Char-Broil four-burner propane/natural gas grill.

This special giveaway is sponsored by Lowe’s at 1550 Wagner Ave. in Greenville. The Char-Broil four-burner grill features the Surefire electronic ignition at each burner for a reliable start every time. It easily converts from liquid propane to natural gas, and features porcelain-coated cast iron grates.
