Preliminary investigation revealed a Red 2005 Volkswagon Golf, driven by 64 year old John R. Wright, of Barefoot Bay, Florida was traveling North on SR 503 and failed to stop for a clearly marked stop sign at the intersection of US RT 127, and struck a Gold 2005 Mazda 6I, traveling South on US RT 127, driven by 35 year old Gregg Boeke of Indianapolis, Indiana. The Mazda then traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a Silver 2005 Scion TC, which was parked in a driveway.
Boeke was extricated from his vehicle by New Madison Fire, and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital aboard CareFlight, and is listed in serious condition. Wright was transported to Wayne HealthCare in Greenville by Tri-Village Rescue and treated for minor injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
