Children’s Theatre Club is holding auditions for their summer productions Annie Get Your Gun and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. Annie Get Your Gun will be perfumed July 26, 27, 28 and is Irving Berlin's tale of Darke County's favorite Daughter Annie Oakley. Including such musical favorites as; "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "Anything You Can Do" Annie leads the life of a sharp shooting superstar while learning "That you can't get a man with a gun". You’re A Good Man Charlie Man brings Charles Schultz's beloved comic strip is to the stage including such hit songs as "Happiness", "My New Philosophy" and "Suppertime". Join Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Snoopy and the whole Peanuts gang with performance running August 16, 17, and 18.Auditions will take place on Saturday May 18th from 10am to 3:30pm, commencing with a quick mandatory parent meeting. Members must be present during the whole audition period (members may bring a sack lunch or parents can bring them lunch). Members may audition for both shows or just one. During auditions actors will be asked to sing a song, read lines from one of the scripts and perform a simple dance routine. Actors can bring a song of choice or they will sing "Home on Home on the Range", lines will be given during the audition and the dance routine will be taught to the group. Opportunities are also available to students who would like to work on scenery, lighting, sound, costumes or props. All fees must be paid at the time of auditions, unless prior arrangements have been made. Everyone person who auditions will be included on stage.
Summer Shows rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 5:30pm. Annie Get Your Gun will rehearse in the morning and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown in the afternoon. A Lunch break will be taken from 12 to 12:30 (members are not permitted to leave during lunch break).
Children's Theatre Club is a non-profit organization which offers Theatre opportunities to area youth in kindergarten thru students in the 12th grade.
Auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place at 635 Wagner Ave. (between Big Lots and Goodwill).
