Arcanum Wayne Trail Historical Society Open

In conjunction with the Farmers Market the Arcanum Wayne Trail Historical Society summer hours are open every Saturday now through August 10, 2013. We are located at 123 W. George Street in Arcanum and the house and reference library will be open from 9am until noon.

Shop at the Farmers Market, tour the house, see updated displays, and do some research or look through old photos and newspaper clippings of the area from our reference library. Please note that prior appointments are needed for July 6 and July 20 for the library. Call 692-6462 or e-mail webmaster@arcanumhistoricalsociety.org.

We have lots of new additions to the library including a scrapbook from Isaac Kay, whose family resided in Ithaca and was related to the Wert, Brock, and Burke families. This dates from early 1900’s. Another is the David Olwine Day Log from the Rosser collection dating mid 1800’s which includes the family Bible notes and genealogy tree for David Olwine and Sarah Graybill. On occasion, old photos will be shown as a slide show or with a digital photo frame during the open house hours.

In September we will resume Open First Saturday of the month hours for the house and library. Please see our web site for current events and updates. www.arcanumhistoricalsociety.org.
