Folks,

I have no doubt the K-8 buildings in Greenville schools need replaced.
I do question the solution, proposed by the "decision makers", for which the $65million bond issue is on the August voting schedule.

The rough break-down of the $65million is -
high school renovation - $10million
K-8 school building - $45million
K-8 locally defined options - $10million

I have two major problems with the proposed solution.

first - the location, I suggest insufficient analysis of other locations is available, even so, I can live with the "bad" spot, as a new facility is needed.

second - the $10million for locally defined options is a "show stopper". The state of Ohio, with many school building experiences, does not consider any of the locally defined options to be a requirement. The "decision makers" in Greenville want their list of options. I emphasize the use of want, these are not needs.

The $10 million represents about 15% of the total bond levy asked for. Who among us would choose to spend 15% more than needed for our personal lives needs?

For this reason I encourage all to vote NO, sending the message to the "decision makers",
that they need to be better stewards of the tax payer dollars, and better planners of the future of education in the Greenville Schools.

Thank you !!

Charlie James, Greenville
