Driver Airlifted After Single Car Rollover Accident

On November 8, 2013 at 10:46 P.M. Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville Twp. Fire, Greenville Rescue, and Careflight were dispatched to State Route 571 near Wagner Road in Darke County on an accident with injury.  The caller reported that the vehicle had rolled onto it's side and the occupant was trapped in the wreckage.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the eastbound 2006 Pontiac Torrent minivan, driven by David L. Harrison, 45, of Greenville, failed to negotiate the curve and drove off the right side of the roadway.  The minivan struck several traffic signs, a guardrail, and a tree.  The minivan came to a rest on it's passenger side.  There was also minor damage to a residence when it was struck by a traffic sign post.

Harrison, who was the lone occupant, had to be freed by mechanical means and was transported from the scene by Careflight.  Harrison was listed in stable condition at Miami Valley Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
