New Volunteers Join State of the Heart Hospice

Three new volunteers have completed their training and are now volunteers for State of the Heart Hospice. Pictured here following their hospice orientation at the Greenville office, 1350 N. Broadway, are, left to right: Kathy Staugler of Ft. Recovery; Julie Sponagle, Bradford, Pauline Faller, State of the Heart Hospice Volunteer Manager and Becky York of Arcanum. Volunteers are an important part of the team providing care to the nonprofit agency’s patients and families. Volunteers help in many ways including sitting with patients while caregivers take a break, or visiting with patients. Volunteers can choose what they prefer to do and the number of hours they can commit to the agency. Orientations are held at various times throughout the year at each of the agency’s branch offices.

With offices in Greenville, Coldwater and Portland, State of the Heart cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness. For more information, visit the web site at www.stateoftheheartcare.org .
