The Village Singers Announce Christmas Concert

The Village Singers invite you to their Christmas Concert to be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcanum, Ohio, on Sunday, December 1, at 2:30 p.m. The concert will be a blend of well-known Christmas and holiday songs sung in four-part harmony. Special guest performances by the Gotham City Brass and flute soloists will be included. Guest director, Amanda Newhart, will also lead the group in an exciting rendition of "Deck the Halls." Refreshments will be served after the concert.

The Village Singers first organized about 15 years ago as a one-time-only Arcanum Alumni reunion choir. Anyone with a desire to sing beautiful music was invited to join with the alumni in forming this choir. The response was so overwhelming that the choir soon grew to over 60 members from several towns and communities and continued under the direction of Peggy (Lockman) Sanders for 10 years. The choir took a break from singing for about 2 years, then reorganized with about 30 members under the direction of Roseanna Bogan. The choir currently performs their annual Christmas concert and Spring concert. Practices for the Christmas concert start in October, and for the Spring concert, practices start in March.

Anyone with a love of music and a desire to sing is invited to join the choir. You don’t need to be a professional singer or even read music! You just need to love singing! If interested, come check us out at our Christmas Concert on December 1 or contact Jean Kelly at 692-6248 for more information.
