On Veteran’s Day, the residents and staff of Versailles Health Care Center held a special celebration to honor their veterans. The celebration started with all in attendance listening to Proud to be an American lyrics by Lee Greenwood followed by a round of applause to recognize the sacrifice and valor of all veterans. The residents then enjoyed a celebratory lunch of BBQ chicken, baked potato, biscuits, beets, and pudding with a small flag and a red, white and blue Veteran’s Day poem decorating each table in the dining room. Candy Stump, Activities Director at Versailles Health Care Center, said “It is an honor to be able to show a small bit of gratitude to our veterans. We would not be where we are today as a country without their courage. Versailles Health Care Center would also like to honor and thank all veterans in the Versailles and surrounding communities for all they have done for us!” Veterans were also honored for their service with a visit by The American Red Cross. Additionally, several community members paid tribute to Versailles Health Care Center veterans with visits and cards.
