Back by popular demand on December 15th the musical skills of master organist, Terry Cassel and noted local soprano, Mary Kathryn Brewer will once again team up as a special treat for the entire community as Trinity Lutheran Church of Versailles once again hosts “Music by Candlelight”. This tradition has been happening for the past several years in the autumn, but now is firmly rooted in the Advent season.
The beauty of Trinity will only be enhanced through the beautiful seasonal decorations and candlelight. Trinity’s massive stained glass windows will be lit from the exterior to add to the beauty of this musical feast.
The recital will include a variety of music for organ and voice. This will be a perfect evening to gather the family from the hectic preparations for Christmas to relax, and enjoy some wonderful music and allow your heart to welcome the birth of the Christ Child.
Following the recital, a reception to honor our performers will follow in the rear Sanctuary where you are encouraged to linger with friends and share in the fellowship of this special time of year.
The recital is sponsored by Trinity’s Worship & Music Team and while this concert remains free to the public, there will be an offering plate for those who wish to contribute to continue these special programs as an outreach ministry.
This hour long concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Trinity is located on the corner of Wood and Steffen Streets in Versailles, the church with the red doors.
Other special programs during this season include “Blue Christmas” on December 19th at 7:00 p.m. especially designed for those who find this season difficult for whatever reason. On Sunday December 22nd our youth will present the timely play entitled “Letters from Bethlehem” during the 10:30 worship. Also as it has done for over seventy-five years, on December 24th at 11:00 p.m. we will welcome the Christ Child with carols, candlelight, and Communion.
Please accept this invitation to join us for any and all of these worship opportunities!
