ANSONIA WALL OF FAME TO INDUCT NEW MEMBERS

On Friday, December 20 the Ansonia Athletic Wall of Fame committee will induct two new members.

Austie Spearman (Auker), class of 1997 will be recognized for her athletic accomplishments in track and volleyball. A partial listing of her honors include: Track years 9, 10, 11, 12; Volleyball years 9, 10, 11, 12; Football and Basketball Cheerleading 9, 10, 11, 12.

In track, Austie went to state in high jump as a sophomore and placed 11th. As a Senior, Austie also went to state in high jump and placed 9th. Austie was all conference 3 of her 4 high school years in track. She played Junior Olympic Volleyball as a sophomore, and as a senior, Austie earned all-conference and all-district honors in Volleyball. She represented Ansonia and played on the All-District team her senior year. Austie also was a 4-year high school football and basketball cheerleader. Austie earned 11 athletic letters in high school, 4 in track, 4 in cheerleading and 3 in volleyball. Other school activities included: Drama Club and Spanish Club.

Austie currently works as the Chief Financial Officer at Family Health Services in Darke County.¬ In her spare time, she loves to take missions trips around the world. She married Matthew Auker earlier this year and they reside in Darke County.

Jim Hatert, class of 1999 will be recognized for his accomplishments in Football, Basketball and Baseball. A partial listing of his honors include: Football years 9, 10, 11, 12; Basketball years 9, 10, 11, 12; Baseball years 9, 10, 11, 12. Jim earned 10 varsity letters during his high school athletic career and was named a team captain 4 times. Jim was named 1st team CCC quarterback as a senior and also earned honorable mention basketball and special mention baseball awards. Jim currently ranks 3rd in Ansonia’s record book for passing yards in a season (1,204) and for career passing yards (2,570). The U.S. Army Reserves named Jim a National Scholar athlete, and he was also a 12-time member of the CCC Academic Team. Other school activities included: Science Club and Spanish Club.

Jim currently works in the teaching profession, is married to Marie, has a son named Ryan and resides in Washington Courthouse.

Austie and Jim will be inducted Friday, December 20 between the Junior Varsity and Varsity boys basketball game against Tri County North.
