GHS Financial Specialist Students Visit The Darke County Home

GHS senior Financial Specialist students with Rest Haven resident, Mary Crist.
Recently Greenville High School (GHS) Financial Specialist students visited with residents at The Darke County Home. Throughout the visit students asked the residents about special Christmas memories then shared a small gift with them. One resident, Shirley, surprised one of the students when she presented her with a top that she had hand-stitched.

Students in the two-year Financial Specialist program learn about business ownership, business management, finance and basic office procedures. During their senior year students have the opportunity to run a hands-on business “The Alumni Shop” or “Spirit Shack. Students design, purchase and sell Greenville spirit items while attempting to make a small profit. The shop is open from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year. In addition, the shop is usually open during home varsity basketball games.

For more information about the Financial Specialist program or the Alumni Shop contact Margie Heitkamp at GHS 548-4188 or by email at mheitkamp@greenville.k12.oh.us.
