Greenville Resident Hired as LPN By State of the Heart Hospice
Amanda Shiflet of Greenville has been hired as a Licensed Practical Nurse by State of the Heart Hospice and will work from the agency’s Greenville office. State of the Heart, with other offices in Coldwater and Portland, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Speaking of her new employment, she said, “After working closely with hospice for many years at long-term care facilities and having three grandparents as hospice patients, I fell in love with the mission of hospice.” She worked for eight years as a STNA and five years as an LPN in long-term care.
When she is not working, she enjoys her hobby of raising and breeding imported European Boxers. She and her husband Dan have two children.
Ansonia Resident Hired as Registered Nurse For State of the Heart Hospice
Allison Hummel of Ansonia has been hired as a Registered Nurse by State of the Heart Hospice and will work from the agency’s Greenville office. State of the Heart also has offices in Portland and Coldwater and cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Speaking of her new employment, she said, “I loved the care that they gave my grandmother and our family during her illness. This care inspired me to want to help others the way that the nurses had helped my family.”
Prior to her employment with State of the Heart, she was a STNA for six years at Union City Care Center and served three months there as an RN. When she is not working she enjoys boating, camping and crafts and time with her husband Kyle.
Bradford Resident Hired as Hospice Aide By State of the Heart Hospice
Carmen Derr of Bradford has been hired as a Hospice Aide by State of the Heart Hospice and will work from the agency’s Greenville office. State of the Heart, with other offices in Portland and Coldwater, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Speaking of her new employment, she said, “I wanted to be that special person to help comfort and give that hand to someone to make their final days count.” She has worked as an Aide for the last four years. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Alex and her family.
Chickasaw Resident Hired Medical Social Worker At State of the Heart Hospice
Tammie Prenger of Chickasaw, has been hired as a Medical Social Worker for State of the Heart Hospice and will work from the nonprofit agency’s Greenville office. State of the Heart, with other offices in Portland and Coldwater, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Prenger explained that her family recently relocated to the area and she wanted to pursue a career change after being in child welfare work for six years. She is a Licensed Social Worker and earned her Master’s in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University.
When not working, Prenger enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and baking cookies. She and her husband Nick are the parents of one daughter.
Greenville Resident Hired as Registered Nurse By State of the Heart Hospice
Lynne Butts of Greenville has been hired as a Primary Registered Nurse by State of the Heart Hospice and will work from the agency’s Greenville office. State of the Heart, with offices in Greenville, Portland and Coldwater, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Speaking of her new employment, she said, “I believe in the mission of hospice care.” Her career has been in healthcare as a registered nurse. She enjoys gardening and horseback riding in her spare time. She and her husband Dennis have five children and six grandchildren.
Greenville Resident Hired as PRN Registered Nurse By State of the Heart Hospice
Tammy Deaton of Greenville has been hired as a Registered Nurse by State of the Heart Hospice and will work as a PRN from the agency’s Greenville office. State of the Heart, with other offices in Portland and Coldwater, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Speaking of her new employment, she said, “I have heard great things about the agency and have a family history of having hospice services. Also I wanted to change my job specialties and expand my knowledge.” She has been a nurse for 14 years.
Greenville Resident Hired as Bereavement Specialist By State of the Heart Hospice
Terri Wehrley- Pyles of Greenville has been hired as a Bereavement Specialist by State of the Heart Hospice and will work from the agency’s Greenville and Coldwater offices. State of the Heart, with offices in Greenville, Portland and Coldwater, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
Speaking of her new employment, she said, “I have a belief in the standard of care given by State of the Heart to its patients and families.” She is a Licensed Social Worker-S and has an extensive background in mental health care and behavioral care. As a LISW-S she is independently licensed with supervisory designation.
When not working, she enjoys 5K’s and “being a soccer mom” for her 14 year old son.
