WHIO: Hunt Arraigned for Home Invasion

A New Madison man accused of invading a home and threatening to kill everyone in it appeared in Darke County Court yesterday. WHIO's Steve Baker was there and filed a report (click on the image below to watch).

Jason Hunt, 23, turned himself in to the Darke County Sheriff's department. He was then charged with aggravated burglary, but Darke County Prosecutor R. Kelly Ormsby noted that additional charges are likely to be filed.

Hunt is accused of breaking into a residence through a locked door, brandishing a handgun and threatening the individuals in the residence with it. According to the original release, he allegedly demanded a 21 year old female leave with him, and threatened to kill her if she did not. Hunt is accused of assaulting her repeatedly after she did not comply with his demands. Hunt then fled, and later turned himself in.

Jason Hunt is currently being held on a $50,000 bond in Darke County Jail.
