During the senior year of the program, students have the opportunity to participate in an internship experience with a local business while earning college credit.
Students in the Business Academy will become proficient in using Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word. Students also learn how to be more independent in learning preparing them for a future in college. In class students learn about the foundations of business, basic computer concepts, management & organizational behavior, project management, financial accounting, supply chain management, and business law.
Students in this program are preparing for a future in a college business degree program. The goal of the program is to expose students to a variety of business areas to help them determine what area of business they may be interested in pursuing in a future degree program.
Tori Minnich, Class of 2014 Business Academy student from Versailles shared, “The Business Academy program has allowed me to find what field I want to study in college. I have also been exposed to the student organization Business Professionals of America (BPA). I have been able to add to my education by going through BPA. I have received BPA awards and have really been taken out of my comfort zone to help me work for what I want to achieve.” Tori plans to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio next year to major in Forensic Accounting.
