New Season to Begin at the Versailles Museum with “Sunday Afternoons at the Museum”

Our new season will begin in February with a Valentine’s treat. On February 16th we’ll celebrate the talents of local author and Versailles native, Myrna Stone. Her new book “Life with My Father” about her dad, Kenneth Subler will be the topic of the day. Myrna, noted for her award winning poetry comes home to share intimate readings from her book and to share stories about growing up in Versailles. This is a hometown afternoon you won’t want to miss and Myrna may have a few books to sell and sign!

Also mark your calendar, as on Sunday March 23 we will host renowned author and historian (not to mention Versailles Area Historical Society Board member), Mary Ann Olding speaking on the history of what has been called “The French Crescent” The area between Russia, St. Valbert’s, and Frenchtown and those who came to settle this region. With Mary Ann’s extensive travels she will bring her own unique insight to this fascinating story of immigration and family.

All programs are held in the Military room at the Museum and are free to the public, however your donations and membership are what keep the museum open and free to all. If the weather is bad you may contact the museum at 526-4222 or check our facebook page to be certain we’ll be having the program.
