Versailles Boys Bowlers Knock Off Undefeated Wapak
Ben Ahrens |
With the 5 Baker games to go, anything could happen with only a 19 pin lead. The first two Baker Games the match remained tight with Wapak winning both game 188-193 and 188-194. The third game was all Versailles as they put a string of strikes together to fire off a 259 game to Wapak’s 177. Needless to say, the Tiger Fans were going nuts watching this display of strikes by Alex Groff, Zach Marshal, Ben Ahrens, Dustin Ruhe and Michael Davidson. “This was a huge game and a big momentum swing for us, however, this match was far from over as Wapak is perfectly capable of doing the same,” said Davidson.
The fourth baker game went to Versailles as they stayed hot by rolling a 204-177 to increase their lead to 117 pins. Wapak ended up winning the last game 168-177 but that was not enough and the Tigers ended up winning 3051 to 2943. The Tigers were led by Ben Ahrens 267, Michael Davidson 223-242, Alex Groff 226, Zach Marshal 220 and Kyle Cotner 214. Versailles, Wapak and St. Henry are now all tied for 1st place at 12-1.
