“Irish Wave,” Darke County Center for the Arts' St. Patrick's Day-themed fundraiser on Friday, March 14 at Montage Cafe in downtown Greenville, will feature Irish music, Irish-flavored chocolates, Irish-themed food, and craft beer, some of which is Irish style. “Lone Raven,” one of the top bands in the Midwest, will provide the music, decadently delicious Bailey's Irish Creme-soaked chocolate covered cherries will be provided by Milissa Meyer of Chocolates & Cakes by Milissa, Montage will serve savory hors d'oeuvres, and that's only the beginning of the highly anticipated delights of 'Irish Wave,'” stated Andrea Jordan, DCCA Executive Director. The party begins at 6:30 p.m.
A collectable Irish Wave tasting glass for each attendee is among the remaining enticements for the event, as are the seven beers available for tasting. According to Ms. Jordan, the beers being served come from three Ohio brewers – Akron's Thirsty Dog Brewery and Columbus-based Elevator Brewery as well as Mt. Carmel Brewery in Cincinnati who provided the brews for DCCA's first “Irish Wave” celebration last March. “Due to popular request, we're bringing back the fan favorite from our 2013 “Irish Wave,” the DCCA executive said. Thirsty Dog will supply their Irish Setter Red, Twisted Kilt Scotch Ale, and Hoppus Maximus, an American style amber ale, while Elevator Brewery will be sending Three Frogs IPA, Angry Goat, and Bleeding Buckeye Red Ale, billed “a real winner – Go Bucks!” Six beer tastes are included in the price of admission; wine and other beverages will also be available.
“Irish Wave” is sponsored by Second National Bank, Dr. Thomas Brown, and Edward Jones Investment Representatives Dave Connelly, Andria Haworth, Todd Subler, and Bill Wolke, as well as Wayne and Sharon Deschambeau and Zechar-Bailey Funeral Home. Their sponsorship makes possible the performance by “Lone Raven.”
