Pre-Diabetes Class Offered

Pre-diabetes is a condition in which individuals have blood glucose levels that are higher than normal, but lower than the levels associated with the diagnosis of diabetes. Pre-diabetes increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. The National Diabetes Fact Sheet estimates that 79 million Americans aged 20 years or older have pre-diabetes.

Pre-diabetes allows you to make lifestyle changes and reduces your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Uncontrolled blood sugar increases your risk of developing complications including eye disease, nerve damage, kidney disease, heart disease, and other complications.

The Wayne HealthCare Diabetes Education Program invites you to join us for a Pre-Diabetes Class to learn lifestyle changes you can incorporate to improve your health. The class will be held on March 24, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the 3rd Floor Conference Rooms at Wayne HealthCare.

The cost to attend the class is $10. Pre-registration is required. Call 937-547-5750 to register.
