MVCTC Adult Education Nursing Graduates Ready for Workforce

Clayton, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Adult Education celebrated the graduation of 34 Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Family and friends attended the graduation ceremony, held in the Student Activity Center on the MVCTC campus.

The program included a welcome and congratulations by MVCTC Supervisor of Adult Education, Mrs. Amy Leedy, and a speech by Stephanie Quincy, LPN with Southwest Ohio ENT. The evening also included speeches by LPN Class of 2014 graduates Tara Bihl and Sherry Woods. Each graduates name was called as they walked across the stage and received their MVCTC Career Passport and Nursing Pin.

Graduates from the MVCTC Licensed Practical Nursing program include Lee Ann Asher, Alexandra Berton, La’Shia K. Blake, Taylor L. Bridges, Mary Ann Clark, Jessica M. Clark, Brooke N. Claude, Carmelite Clemmer, Brittany D. Coffey, Chelsea L. Colbert, Toni Combs, Jessica Davis, Reginald Conrad Dizon, Chelsie Farish, Olivia Lin Frederick, Jackie Lynn Jenkins, April Knick, Jenifer Lairmore, Shawnumeca Laniece Lee, Joshlin Melton, Kendra JaNee Rodgers, Jessica Nicole Shepherd, Gabrielle Diane Staley, Diana Rae Vallo, Lacy Danielle Walker, Edward L. Williams, Jr., and Paige Allayne Williams.


The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at MVCTC is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and is either completed as full-time classes, 41-weeks over 11-months, or taken an extended program taken over 18-months. This program prepares students for professional licensure and employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Following successful completion of the MVCTC LPN courses, students are eligible to sit for the National Certification and Licensing Exam (NCLEX-PN).

For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio. MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
