UPDATED: Student Driver Fails to Yield, 5 Injured at Kruckebeg and 127

Update: Steve Baker posted the following to his facebook page, an interview with Cheif Deputy Mark Whittaker who discusses preliminary information which may explain the cause of the accident.



On June 08, 2014 at approximately 12:56 pm Darke County Deputies, Greenville Township Fire, Greenville City Fire, Greenville Rescue, Gettysburg Rescue, Arcanum Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of Kruckeberg Rd. and US 127 on a 2 vehicle injury accident.
      
Preliminary investigation Revealed a 2007 Ford Focus, driven by a (15) year old female of Greenville, was traveling East on Kruckeberg Rd. approaching US 127. The driver failed to yield at the posted stop sign entering into the intersection of US 127 being struck by a northbound 2005 Chevy Impala driven by Dennis L. Parson (62) of Fort Recovery.
      
The front seat Passenger, Amy L. Baker (44) in the Ford Focus was trapped and had to be extricated then taken to Wayne Hospital and than transferred to Miami Hospital by their MICU Unit. The 15 year old driver was taken to Children's Hospital by Arcanum Rescue. The (15) year old female back seat passenger of Arcanum from the Ford Focus was taken to Wayne Hospital. Passenger from the Chevy Impala Carolyn S. Parsons (61) of Fort Recovery was also transported to Wayne Hospital. All the victims at this time are in undetermined condition. The Darke County Sheriff's Reconstruction Team was also dispatched.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
