State of the Heart Hospice Camp BEARable Still Taking Registrations for Camp

State of the Heart Hospice is accepting registrations for the nonprofit agency’s 14th annual Camp BEARable July 11-13 at the Spiritual Center at Maria Stein. The camp is free and is open to any youth, six to 15, who is grieving the loss of a loved one. There need be no association with hospice care.

The weekend camp features fun and games mixed with serious dialogue about grief and loss. Each child is paired with a specially trained “buddy” who spends time with the youth. The camp concludes with a balloon launch on Sunday afternoon. Each of the past two years 64 youth have attended the camp, and most of those attending had no association with hospice care.

More information is available at the agency web site: www.stateoftheheartcare.org. An application is available on the web site as well. For more information about registering or to learn more about camp, call 1-800-417-7535 and ask to speak to a member of the bereavement staff.
