Marilyn Graeff will lead the final session of the summer series "Coffee And Conversation" held at the Arcanum Wayne Trail Historical Society on Aug 9 beginning at 10 a.m. The Historical Society is located at 123 w. George St.
This is a fun and relaxed time to share memories, yours and those of our host. One story leads to another and they each help tell the history of southern Darke County communities.
Marilyn grew up in Franklin Township where she graduated from Franklin High School. You may remember Marilyn from when she worked at the Domestic Arts Building during the Darke County Fair for 26 years.. She loves to quilt and do a variety of crafts.
Marilyn may have been the first person to welcome you to Arcanum when she served as "Welcome Wagon Hostess". Or maybe she was your teacher at either Arcanum or Franklin Monroe schools. When thinking about Marilyn sports comes to mind. She has wonderful memories to share of her late husband Dick Graeff's career as Arcanum basketball coach, especially winning a State Championship. And, also their involvement with Track and Field. Dick and Marilyn made many friends while Dick served as mayor of Arcanum and was a Darke County commissioner for 16 years.
Aug 9th concludes the Coffee and Conversation series. These gatherings have been so much fun and informative. Many people have joined together sharing memories of family, friends, events, businesses and places.
Come join Marilyn, have a cup of coffee and share memories. She wants to hear your stories, too.
This event is free, the public is welcomed to attend and students are encouraged to come and learn about the community.
