Intern, Baleigh Reed is jumping into her new position at the Darke County Visitors Bureau with both feet! She will be writing a post every week titled, "Follow Baleigh." You won't want to miss the excitement she brings in discovering Darke County. Here is the first edition of "Follow Baleigh." With this being my first visit to Historic Bear's Mill on the first day of my internship at the visitors bureau, I didn't know what was in store, but I was excited to spend the afternoon exploring! After enjoying a tour of the historic mill, meeting the nice and helpful staff, doing some shopping and traveling the paths leading to the dam, I was wowed by all of the activities there are to do at this site. The baked goods alone were a good enough reason for me to make a return visit! I eyed them the entire time I was there. The natural scenery however had to be my absolute favorite part. The views overlooking the dam are one of a kind, and I felt at peace as I looked around the creek, green trails and wide-open skies. The entire experience made me feel as if I had stepped back in time. I am very excited to visit again to explore more of the trails and sample some sweet treats! Whether you enjoy shopping, history, nature, or antiques, Bear’s Mill offers a variety of activities everyone in the family is sure to love year round!
