Fort GreeneVille DAR Chapter held their annual Literacy Event at the Gathering at the Garst Museum in Greenville. DAR member Karen Burkett held the story time at her encampment tent. The Garst Museum Gift Shop donated the book, Fort Life by Bobbie Kalman and David Schimay. Karen read about life in a fort. Afterwards the children were given "fort chores" to do. The chores consisted of food preparation, sweeping, gathering water and firewood. The book was given as a door prize before the storytime ended.
